Truths on Election Day 2008

I just returned from exercising my right as an American to cast a vote! Ella Grace learned all about the election process yesterday at preschool, so she tagged along. As I held her, so she could see what I was doing, I was reminded of some Truths that have been on my mind for the past several weeks:

~God is still God! Whether there is a woman or an African American in the White House.

~God is still God! His love for me doesn't depend on how I voted.

~God is still God! He allowed me to be born in the greatest country in the world.

~God is still God! In His sovereignty, He placed my children in this time in history.

~God is still God! The battle He's engaged in is for my entire heart.

"...His eyes keep watch on the nations..." Ps. 66:7

great thoughts!! similar things have been going through my mind today. God has a plan ... not quite sure what He is thinking right now ... but i'm banking on the fact that he does and that long term it will all make sense.

I loved this verse from yesterday -Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD; he turns it wherever he will.

I've been personally rebuked recently by my own recognition that I keep limiting God's ability to even work in Barrack Obama's heart. My head says it can't happen because the man stands for everything that I believe in it seems. But, in that, I am easily forgetting that God is the One that can and does effect change in any man or woman's heart. He did in mine, so why not even in the President of the US? Now, wouldn't that be a statement of God's power if we saw a conversion in the White House?
